Pre-wedding Photography Singapore Zoo Mandai
When Xing Yi and Andrea told me they were planning an animal-themed wedding at the Singapore Zoo, I was thrilled. After 10 years as a photographer in Singapore, this was a first for me. Their story starts with this shoot at Mandai, leading up to their wedding dinner at the Night Safari.
I’ll be honest—I thought we would be able to get much closer to the animals. We visited three spots during feeding times: the Elephants, Zebras, and Giraffes. In reality, the closest the couple could get was about an arm's length while feeding them.
As a photographer, this was a challenge. You can’t control how a giraffe moves or how an elephant reacts. The angles were limited and the timing was very fast.
But this is exactly where the best moments happen. Even though I couldn't "direct" the animals, I focused on catching Xing Yi and Andrea simply having fun.
The best shots weren't about a perfect pose; they were about the genuine laughter and the look of wonder on their faces. It was unscripted, a little bit wild, and completely them.
