When Rain Couldn’t Stop the Party: A Travel-Themed Changi Chalet Wedding

If capturing weddings has taught me anything over the years, it’s that the best, most beautiful moments are almost always the unscripted ones.

Take this Changi Chalet wedding, for example. The couple spent three whole years planning every detail to perfection. Their vision was simple: skip the stiff ballroom and throw a travel-themed, breezy backyard party by the sea. They had everything set up—custom travel favors, live acoustic music, and an amazing outdoor dining setup beneath a canopy of glowing fairy lights.

Then, right in the middle of the evening, the skies darkened and the tropical rain came pouring down.

My heart honestly sank for them in that moment. Three years of planning, suddenly interrupted by a storm! But what happened next was pure magic. In the middle of everyone running for cover, the bride’s dad walked up and gave her the warmest, most reassuring hug. Indoors, the guests didn't let the mood drop for a single second—they cheered, grabbed drinks, and kept the energy sky-high.

Thankfully, Singapore’s passing showers worked in our favor. Just 15 minutes later, the rain stopped completely.

Without missing a beat, everyone ran right back out onto the damp lawn under the fairy lights. The couple opened up the dance floor, and the energy didn't just pick back up—it doubled. Everyone danced like there was no tomorrow, turning what could have been a disaster into the best memory of the night.
