Pre-Wedding Photography at Coney Island: A Journey Through Nature

Prewedding photography with Kelvin and Magie at Coney Island nearing to the Punggol beach

For couples who love the outdoors, pre-wedding photography at Coney Island offers a beautiful escape from the city. This hidden gem in Singapore provides a raw, rustic backdrop that feels worlds away from the urban skyline. Whether you prefer the tall pine trees or the quiet shoreline, it is a place where your story can unfold naturally.

A Special Connection: Kelvin & Maggie

This session was particularly meaningful for me. Kelvin is an old army mate, and I was truly honoured to document both his pre-wedding shoot at Coney Island and his actual wedding day.

Working with friends is always fun, but it comes with its own challenges! Kelvin has a habit of freezing up as soon as a camera is pointed at him. He often feels very self-conscious about smiling, which can lead to some awkward moments. To help him out, I focused on giving him simple prompts and keeping the atmosphere light. My goal was to make him feel as comfortable as possible so the real Kelvin could shine through.

The Rustic Charm of the Pine Forest

Coney Island is famous for its tall, slender trees and textured pathways. By focusing on the "Story & Art" approach, I acted as a "Quiet Observer" while Kelvin and Maggie explored the trails. This helped Kelvin forget about the camera. These unscripted moments—a shared laugh or a quiet walk—photograph beautifully against the earthy tones of the forest.

A Quiet Moment by the Beach

Just a short walk from the forest, the scenery shifts. The beach at Coney Island is peaceful and less crowded than other spots in Singapore. Shooting by the beach allows us to play with natural light and the soft movements of the sea. The open space is perfect for honest, heartfelt portraits that stay true to the couple's connection.

A Sparkly Ending: Coney Island at Night

When the sun goes down, the beach takes on a whole new feeling. We stayed until dark to add a touch of magic to their story. At night, we took photos with sparklers by the beach. The glowing light against the dark water created artful, playful images and was the perfect way to end their adventure.
